Brixham College is proudly celebrating the achievements of its students today as they receive their GCSE results.
The College has seen growth across key performance measures, reflecting the hard work of students and staff alike.
This year’s results show:
A 3% increase in students achieving Grade 4 or above in five or more subjects.
An 4% rise in those securing Grade 5 or above in five or more subjects.
Most notably, the percentage of students achieving Grade 4+ in both English and mathematics rose by 4%, a crucial benchmark that enables students to progress to the next phase of their education or training.
Strong performances were also recorded across a wide range of subjects, with improved outcomes in 3D design, child development, health and social care, English, philosophy and ethics, sport, Spanish, and sociology.
Students also excelled at the highest levels, securing sixty Grade 8s and ten Grade 9s in subjects including Biology, Catering, and Textiles.
Alongside the success of the whole cohort, several students achieved particularly impressive results:
Isabelle Bartlett who achieved grade 9s in English literature and philosophy and ethics and a grade 8 in history.
Esme Bradley who secured a grade 8 in art and design, a grade 7 in English language and Distinction* in health and social care.
Alesha Churchward who achieved grade 7s in biology and mathematics.
Theo Dodgson who successfully achieved grade 8s in Maths and Science and a grade 7 in Art and Design.
Es Harrington who successfully achieved a grade 8 in English Language and a grade 7 in Art and Design.
Zeid Kayal who achieved one grade 9 in Arabic, a grade 8 in 3D design and grade 7s in mathematics and biology.
Miles Huxley who achieved an 8 in Maths
Jaimie McCreadie who successfully achieved grade 9 in English Language and grade 8s in Catering, History and Sociology, and a grade 7 in English Literature and Science.
Gracie Radmore who successfully achieved grade 8s in Art and Design, 3D Design and Maths.
Collecting her GCSE results today, Esme Bradley said:
“I am really happy with my results. The support I have had at Brixham College has been amazing from years 7 to 11. I am looking forward to staying on to do my A Levels here at Brixham College”
Collecting her GCSE results today, Gracie Radmore said:
“It has been a real community here at Brixham College - I have really enjoyed my time here. I am so please with my results as I am looking to on to Exeter College to study 3D Design, Maths and Art”
Collecting her GCSE results today, Jaimie Mccreadie said:
“I am really happy with my results particularly an 8 in Sociology. I am looking forward to staying to do my A Levels here at Brixham College and studying English Literature. I have enjoyed my time at Brixham College - the teachers have been amazing!”
Collecting his GCSE results today, Theo Dodgson said:
“I have achieved what I wanted and am really pleased with my 8s in Science and Maths. I have had a lot of support from teacher's and have enjoyed my time at Brixham College”
